•  Safe Learning Plan(III)

Ubah Medical Academy (District 4121-07) Staff, Parents, and Students,

The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) would like all parents, families, students, educators, and all members of the public to complete a survey on flexible use funding provided by the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act. This act was enacted into law on March 11, 2021, and includes $1.3 billion for E-12 education in Minnesota to help schools returning to, and maintaining, safe in-person learning for all students.

Per federal law, 90% of these funds have been allocated to eligible districts and charter schools. 9.5% of these funds are for flexible use by each state education agency to create a plan to meet the needs of students. As a result, we are asking for feedback and input on how the 9.5% could be used.

Complete this short survey before 4 p.m. on Monday, June 21 at this link https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/6349159/Public-Comment-on-American-Rescue-Plan-Funding

Required District #4121-07 “Safe Return to In-person Learning” Plan

Additionally, as a condition of accepting the ESSER III award (federal dollars), Ubah Medical Academy (district 4121-07) must develop, with community input, a Safe Return to In-Person Learning Plan and post it for public comment within 30 days of receiving the ESSER III award (June 21, 2021). The Safe Return to In-Person Learning Plan must be reviewed regularly, at least every six months, and Ubah Medical Academy must seek additional public comment on revisions.

A meeting to update our current Safe Return to In-Person Learning was held this past Friday, June 11 at 4:00 PM at the middle school TCIS.  Please email or call School Mr. Faysal Ali should you have any suggested changes to this plan and/or suggestions for how to spend these federal ESSER III dollars over the course of the next three years.

     Determining a Safe Learning Model

The Minnesota Department of Education has outlined the three learning models for the 2020-21 school year. Please click the links under the 2020-2021 Learning Models to learn more about each model. It is expected that we will move in and out of the three models throughout the course of the year as the number of COVID-19 cases fluctuates in Hennepin County. Families should keep in mind that Ubah Medical Academy will implement the same learning model for all grade levels.
